Overview:

Contract: Permanent

Workplace: Hybrid – 2 days in our Hemel Hempstead Office

Hours: 35

Reports to: Sr. Manager, Accounting

 

Gift card settlement transactions account for most of Blackhawk’s core revenue and consist of multiple complex data and reconciliation activities. This position focuses on the investigation and resolution of settlement variances for complex clients, to ensure the automation and accuracy of reporting, invoicing, and payments. Provide training and guidance to other departments and partners on the abilities or navigation of our transactions rating system.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for high transaction volume balance sheet account reconciliations in a fast-paced changing environment while ensuring established controls are followed.
  • Diligently monitor and investigate reconciliation differences and transactions held in exception, correcting quickly for re-processing.
  • Liaise directly with internal and external stakeholders to resolve settlement queries ensuring set up within the transactional rating system is accurate and in line with contractual terms, meeting service level agreements.
  • Collaborate with members from Settlement, Accounting, IT, Onboarding, New Business Teams and project teams to pro-actively identify root causes, develop, and implement solutions.
  • Run report queries on transactional platforms to gather settlement data, interrogating data and providing analytical results.
  • Setup or be part of meetings with partners and/or other departments to provide insight on system capabilities; help problem-solve solutions that will be most beneficial to the partner’s needs.
  • Lead training new team members or other department employees on navigating through the system setups, research, and ticking processes; help provide ad-hoc reporting through Qlik and other reporting tools; and provide setup/training to employees to continue self-reliant reporting.
  • Responsible for period end journal entries including standard, accruals, and ad hoc entries.
  • Ad hoc duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • BA in accounting or finance experience or equivalent relevant experience
  • Strong reconciliation skills and the ability to work with, analyse and manipulate large quantities of data
  • Enjoys a fast-paced learning environment and has an ability to understand processes end to end.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word at an intermediate level. Strong competency in SQL, Access, Lucidcharts (desirable)
  • Experience with ERP System, Microsoft Dynamics a plus
  • Possess a high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and resourcefulness to meet schedules and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and resourcefully with minimal supervision and to take on new tasks and see them through to completion
  • Team player who is adaptable in a high-growth, rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
