Overview:

As a Project Manager III within Blackhawk Network’s regulated entity GVSPE, you will be responsible for managing technology and regulatory initiatives, focusing on information system improvements. This self-motivated and driven individual will leverage exceptional project management skills and a technical background to lead cross-functional teams in a global, matrixed, and fast-paced environment. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, as well as global security, product, and engineering teams, to document, develop, and execute projects on the regulated entity’s roadmap. In this role, you will manage scheduling, prioritization, expectation setting, and cost management while ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory compliance. Your focus will be on supporting group progress, driving efficiency, and delivering results across key information systems projects.

 

This is a 2 year, fixed term contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage delivery of regulatory & technology initiatives in line with the IT strategy and roadmap.
  • Work with global teams comprising of business operations, product management, engineering, vendors, and support teams to ensure on time, on budget, quality delivery of solutions that support business and technology strategy.
  • Perform gap analyses, create project plans/timelines to produce deliverables.
  • Take ownership of project tasks and work with global teams to document and ensure the gaps are remediated and evidenced.
  • Independently develop and manage the project plans and partner with discipline leads and project teams to execute plans.
  • Manage schedules and overall project organization to ensure requirements and project delivery dates are clearly identified, communicated, understood, and executed upon.
  • Effectively and efficiently plan and prioritize all resources working across project(s) based on scope of work and project goals.
  • Ability to communicate (written and verbal) at all levels (business and technology leadership, project teams, peers, vendors).
  • Provide project status reports to management on a regular basis.
  • Effectively identify, assess, prioritize and manage project risks and issues.  Ensure timely escalation to senior leads and to key stakeholders.
  • The ability to identify risks and link dependencies across projects is required.
  • The IT Project Manager reports to the Head of IT

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in IT project management, management consulting or similar discipline.
  • Relevant formal qualifications required.
  • Ability to draft high quality documentation (both project and technical) using existing knowledge specialists from cross functional teams.
  • Experience in a regulated environment/formal frameworks is desired (NIST, ISO 27001, 9001, 27003 etc.)
  • Technical knowledge of: MS Project, Lucid Charts, MS Office.
  • Experience managing initiatives involving design and implementation of new strategic capabilities, business process improvements or automation, or enhancements to existing systems.
  • Good understanding of or experience working in the payments industry and ecommerce domain is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, creative with a high-level of energy, excellent interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast changing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on ownership & task completion is critical.
